I find that one of the hardest parts of doing a block print is figuring out what needs to be carved away and what stays. After you have made one yourself, you will not be able to look at a wood block print the same again.  And when you screw one up, you have to work with it, there is no putting the wood back after it is carved away. Oh, and the blisters. Owwie. Once again, all these things…the time, the guess work, the screw ups, the blisters, are all part of why I love it!

But for now, I need to stop carving. First of all, to let my blister heal and secondly to make my baby boys 18th birthday cake!
