Some of my latest and favorites now for sale at my local CoOp. Each one is different and original, I can’t stop coming up with new designs. Fun fun fun.

I continued on my prompt paintings yesterday. Not sure what is going to happen to them, but the beginning layers often get covered when creating with this sort of technique. I’ll just keep going and see what happens.

I’ve also got this idea bouncing around  in my head to do a large painting of floral undergrowth. So I did a quick sketch yesterday as step #1.

Maybe I should make my own prompts and just do them. Not a new idea, but sometimes when something is said for the 100th time it ends up being the right time. I like the concept of a rendezvousing with my ideas.

OK, so let’s do it then, For tomorrow I’ll order those large canvases and start putting my plan into action. What plan do you want to put into action and have been putting off? Maybe it’s time to have a rendezvous and just do it!

This lingering winter has got me chomping at the bit for some spring blooms, so this week I started on some poppy paintings.

This piece is back by popular demand. I don’t often try to replicate paintings, but after a friend asked me if I could try to reproduce an earlier piece, I made this for her. Starting to feel the appeal.

And now that I have the poppy juice flowing, this is what I am currently working on…

Come on Spring!

Surprisingly, the rain held off for the Bastille Day Celebration in Media and so I went for it and set up my booth as planned.

It’s a lot of work to set up shop just to tear down in 3 hours, but business wise I sold some of my hand painted cards and my “Tropical Dream” painting, which was great to see go to a pair of photographers, a lovely husband and wife who are moving to Florida. Perfect.

The evening itself was beautiful and relaxed with sweet handholding couples wandering the streets and enjoying themselves.

Between chatting with the natives and swapping stories with other artists I had an amazing view of the pretty spectacular 3 story Eiffel Tower sculpture with my favorite Media building in the background…

Got to listen to my favorite local musical duo, set up right across the street from me…

And watched a lovely sunset as day turned to night.

The sales are important, but getting out and socializing and experiencing moments that can’t be recreated is what it’s about. Sometimes it can be a little freaky deeky being out there alone, but mostly it’s empowering and pretty great.

night set up

Lots of progress happened this weekend. The shift occurred when I added the radiating heart element. (Click on the photo to get a better view.)

electric company dog

As it was one of my favorite childhood shows, I’m happy with the Electric Company feel going on. I mean who doesn’t love seeing Morgan Freeman in an afro and bell bottoms? And remember the woman who screamed, “Hey you guuuuys!!”? And The Adventures of Letterman. And that song with the pinball machine…one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven, twelve. For those that don’t know what I am talking bout, carry on. For those who do, have fun getting nostalgic with this clip.

Latest changes and  progress this morning.

dog days

Though I was imagining the finished piece with the dog more immersed in the flowers, the large flower that used to be in front of my pooch had to go. Actually it went soon after my husband said it looked like he’d been shot. Turns out I am quite liking the composition much better now. Thanks honey for the critique.
